Staffers give paddling instruction and advice for river navigation, such as which forks to take and which islands to avoid. They may also explain riverside features to keep an eye out for, such as mountains and historic sites, before sending participants off on unguided tours. Clad in life vests, participants then load into one- or two-person inflatable kayaks, or inflatable rafts of all sizes for larger parties, to swirl down Provo Canyon’s Class I and Class II rapids.
