My girls and I (yup, I have all girls and we are all about anything girly!) recently discovered a cute website called The Lime Bow – It just sounds cute, doesn’t it?
My girls and I often make our own hairclips, when we are going to be making lots of the same clip, but buying supplies to make just one or two clips often ends up costing more (since I can’t buy just 2 flowers or a few inches of one ribbon) and I end up with a lot of extra supplies.
Especially if I want a unique clip and won’t have a way to use up my extra unique ribbon. So someone else coming up with the cute ideas and making me just a few in it works out really great!
What I loved most about the Lime Bow though, is that it’s owner is a 17 year old girl from Michigan who started her own business a year ago after having no luck finding a good part-time job to save for college. I love putting my money into something made here in the USA, and promoting a young person going after an education makes it even better.
A few things I noticed about Maggie (the owner) as I was looking through her site – She is very detailed! All the hair clips she has pictured on her site come with details posted on size – so you end up with the right size for the right head!
She has great creativity and offers other unique crafts besides the hairclips (which can be custom ordered!) and works very hard to achieve her goals.
And the selection is endless, with interchangeable snaps for your favorite flower clip to make it match any outfit.
Giving the finishing touch to a cute braid (who wants to show off a rubber band?).
