In Utah we celebrate two very fun holidays in July. One is of course Independence Day on July 4th and the other is Pioneer Day on July 24th. In honor of Pioneer Day we have a wonderful giveaway for you!
Have you visited This is The Place Heritage Park recently? We decided to take a day and visit the park since we haven’t been for a few years. First things first, make sure when you go that you give yourself PLENTY of time. Plan on making a day out of it. We didn’t get there until after lunch and we ran out of time! There is SO MUCH to do and see at this super fun State Park. We will be going back soon to spend more time for sure.
When you first arrive at This Is The Place Heritage Park you will find the Heritage Gift Shop. Plan on some extra time to hit this gift shop. We found some of the cutest stuff. Because we were late, we looked around for a second and then came back after checking out the park. The thing that surprised me the most about this park was how much there is to do. From watching the Native American Dancers, Pioneer School, Panning for Gold, Mini Train Rides, Pony Rides, Craft Projects, Big Train Rides, and touring each of the homes, there is SO MUCH to do!! We didn’t even scratch the surface and my girls had a Blast!
We started our day at the farm:
Petting the Bull
Riding the Ponies
Petting the animals
I had no idea how many fun craft project that they have. These are included in the price of admission and were one of kid’s highlights. They had so much fun making their own handkerchief dolls that they got to keep and still play with.
We hopped on the train to head on up to do some beading at the Native American Village as well as some panning for gold in the stream.
Making Arrowhead Necklaces
Enjoying the Native American Village
It was a warm day so of course we had to grab some of their delicious Flavor Burst Ice Cream. It is so cool! They have a ton of different flavors that you can choose from and it all comes out of one machine. The flavor is in the colored part swirled with the vanilla soft serve. So yummy and fun!
Make sure to wear or bring your swimsuits to play at the Splash Pad.
The historical homes are beautiful and very cool. We loved the history behind them and my 6 year old wanted to learn everything about every building and who lived in each one, why they were there, and how they were used. They have a Church, School, Store, Blacksmiths Shop, Mill, Tinsmith Shop, Hospital, Print Shop, Cabinet Shop, and MUCH MUCH MORE!!
All this and the view is incredible!
As I’ve said before, make sure to give yourself PLENTY of time to visit this State Park. There is So much to see and do, you will want enough time. My girls were so sad we had to leave and we can’t wait to get back and spend some more time. It is such an amazing price for all that there is to do.
We made sure to stop in at the Heritage Gift Shop after leaving the park. I was so surprised at how much this cute shop has to offer. And we totally scored! We have been looking for the perfect “Piggy Bank” for my daughter since Christmas. She broke hers and we wanted to get just the right thing. We totally found it here!! If nothing else, this shop was worth the drive up the hill!!!
I absolutely adore anything with bees. I wanted to buy this entire collection. (Yes, there was even more, I really had to refrain myself)
I was so impressed with all the Local Utah items in this shop. I love to shop local and will be coming back to stock up again!
This is The Place Heritage Park is giving aways 4 Sets of 4 All Day Passes to the Park. Yes, that is right! We will have 4 winners and each winner will win 4 All Day Passes!! PLUS, they are including 4 Flavor Burst Ice Cream Vouchers!! How Sweet is that!

I can’t find #heritagegiftshop on Twitter… is it #heritagegift? Your link won’t work and that’s all I can find on Twitter that is remotely close (though I can’t tell since they’ve never posted anything that I can see).
I mean, @heritagegift (https://twitter.com/heritagegift)
That is weird. That was the info they gave me, but I can’t find it either. I’m going to change it. Use @Thisistheplace1
