In July I posted this picture on Facebook. I promised then that I would tell you more about it later….well, it’s later! Unfortunately, it is quite a bit later than I had planned on. Major. Blogger. Fail!
For those of you who don’t know, this is a picture of the Governor of Utah , Governor Herbert and the Mayor of Salt Lake City, Mayor Becker.
This picture was taken at Hogle Zoo where I had the awesome opportunity to attend a news conference announcing The Clear The Air Challenge for the state of Utah. This challenge started on August 1st (see…blogger FAIL). But you can still register.
This is an Awesome program! The air in Utah is usually really quite good but there is something about the Wasatch Front (I guess it is the bowl affect) and the air here isn’t nearly as good as the rest of Utah. Add in the recent fires and it is down right GROSS out there! Oh, and let’s not even talk about the winter with the inversions….ugh!
Enter the Clear The Air Challenge. This is a super fun challenge that helps to educate people about what we can do to help cut down on our miles we are driving in our cars, ect. Plus, there is a little friendly compitition involved.
The best part about this challenge is you will learn how you are impacting the air around you. Which we all can use. I have never been accused of being an environmentalist, but I do believe taking care of our planet and doing things to help cut down on pollution only makes sense.
{My girls coloring pictures about what Clean Air means to them}
If you haven’t signed up for the 2012 Clear the Air Challenge yet there’s still time! The Challenge runs through August 31, and we want you to join us! Even better, you could win great prizes just by tracking your progress!
