This is a great idea sent to us by reader Joan in Logan. Right now Hobby Lobby has Christmas cards that were $10/box (20 in each) marked down to 90% off – making each box just $1.
She is buying them for the thick, foil lined envelopes and using those for her daughters wedding invitations. They plan to print the invitation on a photograph of the couple and then use onion paper for small inserts, such as where the couple is registered and invites to the actual ceremony.
The cards inside the envelopes she plans to use for postcards, gift tags and small Valentines cards. Some would require the design of the card to have another piece of paper put on to cover the wording from the Christmas card.
Thank you Joan for submitting this fantastic, money saving idea! High quality foil envelopes are spendy to come by and aren’t likely to have coupon deals associated with them. It’s great when we can use seasonal leftovers for something totally different.
If you have a great money saving idea (we are particularly looking for V.Day activities right now) – we would LOVE to hear your ideas. Please send them to [email protected].
