Hey Cache Valley friends, have you heard of Cache Valley Unplugged? I received an email about it with a flyer from my child’s school, and it sounds pretty cool, so I thought I’d share.
We’ve been trying to come up with a bucket list of things to do this summer, and I think we might base a lot of our list from this fun community/business sponsored program.
The basis of Cache Valley Unplugged is to get kids to turn off the TV and put down electronics and get out and play. Kids will get a Brag Badge for EVERY activity they earn, and Find programs you’re interested in (most are FREE, there are a few that are low-cost), and once your family completes that activity you can earn a badge for it.
For example. go play at the Providence Splash Pad or North Logan Splash Pad, then go in to the Bear River Mental Health Department and let them where you played and what you liked about it to get your badge. If you also bring along a photo of yourself playing at the splash pad, you’ll get a bonus snack, too!
There are dozens of badges that can be earned, and there is a special Play Unplugged Lanyard for your kids to use to display their badges. Pick those up for free at the Chamber of Commerce located at 160 North Main in Logan.
I love this! It’s a great way to encourage ME as a parent to get out and do these fun activities with my kids this summer, and the badges will make it that much more fun for my kids to get away from Minecraft and PLAY.
