Update: Looks like they changed their mind again and now they are honoring it. Their FB page now says,

Hi Brita fans! Great news to report: We will be honoring all the mail-in rebates that were recently available! We apologize for all the inconvenience this caused. Thanks for you patience and sticking with Brita. Enjoy your rebates!”

Brita is not giving a clear reason, but they have decided NOT to honor the rebate form they had released previously. If you have not already sent yours in, you’ll want to hang on to it so you can return your pitcher if you want. From comments on their Facebook page, it appears that the rebate forms and receipts will be returned to customers.
I’ve never seen this happen before, hopefully we won’t see something like this again. Booo!

It is a bad situation, but I say BOO on all the bloggers that fraudulently uploaded the form and told readers to keep printing it. That’s like telling them to steal $10 from Brita. 🙁
I agree heather, people need to follow the rules and stop ruining it for everyone else!
