Have you heard of a Baby Nari Hip Hugger? They have these over at Kids Woot for $34.99 (regularly $79.99). Shipping is a flat $5 no matter how much you order at Woot. This is the first time I’ve seen these, and they’re so cool! It’s a way to carry your baby without actually strapping them in, and is designed not for infants (like most baby carriers), but for 10 -36 months (about 22-40 pounds).
Since there are no straps or buckles, you can easily set your baby down to let them play and run around, but when you’re carrying them they are supported to take the stress off your arms, hips, and back. The seat is tilted to keep your child safely against you, and there is non-skid surface to prevent falls. This IS NOT a hands free carrier, just something to use to help you carry your child while relieving stress on your body. I think it would be a great device to use for trips to the park, when you might not want to pack a stroller, but know you’ll need to hold your child at times.
