It’s time for baby animals! Your kids will always remember snuggling a baby chick or duckling or petting a goat. There are several events and places you can go to in Utah to enjoy the baby animals. If you know of any that I missed on this list, let me know and I’ll add it!
This is the Place Heritage Park Baby Animal Season Kickoff
March 30, 2019 – Salt Lake City, Utah

The first event of the season. In addition to snuggling the baby chicks and petting goats, you can also ride ponies and trains. The Park also provides crafts, games, and other activities. This is my girls’ favorite! My daughter always chooses to go to This is The Place Heritage Park for her birthday! It’s the perfect play to get out enjoy the animals, spring weather, and our Utah history!

American West Heritage Center Baby Animal Days
April 3-6, 2019 – Wellsville, Utah – 10 am to 6 pm
The original baby animal days, this event is a favorite of families in Cache Valley, and families travel from around Utah and Idaho to attend. In addition to traditional lambs, piglets, calves, kids, foals, chicks, and ducklings, you’ll also get to see baby bears! There’s a Candy Cannon for the kids, pony and train rides, and plenty of other festivities at the historic farm. You’ll even get to see pioneers and a mountain man! Be prepared for the crowds, regardless of the weather. A little rain or snow won’t stop people from attending.
Cost: $9 Adults, $7 Ages 3-11 *Get $1 off if you bring in a can of food, 1 can per person
American West Heritage Center Baby Farm Animals
Fridays, April 12, 19, 26 4pm – 7pm
Saturdays, April 13, 20, 27 10am – 5pm
If you aren’t able to go to Baby Animal Days, The American West Heritage Center also holds Baby Farm Animals on Fridays and Saturdays in April. This is also a great time to go if you want to avoid the crowds. You’ll still enjoy the chicks, ducklings, piglets, calves, lambs and kids. Plus the 1917 Farm Site with pioneers will be open as well as pony and train rides and concessions will be available. You can even take a tour to see buffalo for $3!

The Farm at Gardner Village
Tuesdays March 1 through March 30, 2019 – West Jordan, Utah
In addition to visiting the farm and petting zoo, children can take a hand-led pony ride through Gardner Village! Normally the farm is $5/child, but on Tuesdays it is only $2/child. There are also $5 pony rides available. There are also $2 bags of feed for the animals. They also have Free Food Friday. Bring in a can of food for Utah’s Food Bank on Friday and they’ll give you a free bottle or bag of feed to give your favorite animal at The Farm.
Cross E Ranch Spring Baby Animal Festival
April 5th – May 4th 2019 – Salt Lake City, Utah – Fridays, Saturdays, & Mondays!
Meet chicks, bunnies, kids, calves, piglets, the oh-so- adorable baby mini donkey Miss Jackie and her buddy Hunter, and more! If you want to see cuteness, this is where it’s at! There’s also a wagon train, hay rides, sensory station, story time, and much more. Take a horse ride for $3. Concessions are available, and make sure you visit the Country Store for treats, apparel, and more.
Cost: $10.95 Adults (ages 12+), $8.95 Children (ages 3-11), Ages 0-2 are Free, $7.95 for Seniors (60+), $8.95 for Service (military, police, fire, vets, and their immediate family members) – Plus they also have Group rates available.
Baby Animal Day Hosted by Kohler Creamery and Heber Valley Artisan Cheese
April 26, 2019 – Kohler Creamery – 12pm – 6pm
Experience the joy of spring during our farm’s baby animal day, Friday, April 26 from 12 pm to 6 pm. With help of other farmers & ranchers in the Heber Valley, you’ll be delighted to interact and learn about various farm animals. In addition, you and your family can enjoy some time taking a hay ride and playing farm games on the lawn. Upgraded tickets for calf feeding, as well as dairy barn tours – will be available the DAY of the event.
Cost: $8.00 (ages 2+), Ages 0-1 are Free
Barnyard Babies at Clark Historic Farm
April 27 & May 4, 2019 – Grantsville, Utah
Local farmers bring their baby animals to the farm to pet and cuddle. Demonstrations include sheep shearing, wool spinning, and goat milking. Also enjoy Grantsville’s Swedish and English heritage with Maypole activities and Derby Day horse racing!
Cost: $3 Adults, $2 Children, $12 Family
Utah State University Botanical Center Baby Animal Days
May 10-11, 2019 – Kaysville, Utah
Held on Mother’s Day weekend, this is a fun event that we’ve attended for the last 5 years. They have all the cute baby farm animals as well as reptiles, sheep shearing demos, horse rides, miniature train rides, a climbing wall, and food vendors. Proceeds from the event support the botanical gardens and 4-H programs.
Cost: $7 per person or $35 for families up to 6 people
Carver’s Cove Petting Farm
May through June – Wednesdays through Saturday – Eden Utah
Come early in the season and see all the baby animals. This event runs through the month of June and every child receives a free container of animal food with his/her admission.

*On days of extreme heat, closing time is 2:00 PM

Morgan Baby Animal Days
We are still waiting on updated information on this one to see if it will be happening again this year.
Find baby animals, food, and fun at the Morgan County Fairgrounds. There will be bounce houses, train rides, a giant sand box, tractors, pony rides, concessions and plenty of cuddly baby animals. Cost: $5 for adults and $4 for kids 12 and under, Pony Rides are $2
