You guys!!! I’m SUPER EXCITED! I was totally experiencing FOMO with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening on May 31. So my husband and I decided to plan a quick Disneyland trip for our upcoming anniversary and we’ll be there within the first few days of it opening! EEEEK!
To get a reservation into the land while we’re staying, we had to also get a room at one of the 3 Disneyland Resort hotels since it’s between May 31 and June 23, and it will be my first time ever staying at the Disneyland® Hotel. I can’t wait!
However, staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel can be pricey, so I had Get Away Today help me plan my trip with another couple of nights at a different Anaheim hotel so we could enjoy a few more days of Disney without such a huge expense.
The good news is, there are both Disneyland Resort hotels and Anaheim area hotels available ALL SUMMER LONG, even with the opening of this popular land! That says to me that perhaps some people are worried about crowds and just avoiding it altogether, or they’re waiting till all the attractions are open (Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be running at the opening, but Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be coming later this year).
I highly recommend booking with Get Away Today! They’re so good to work with and travel frequently to Disneyland, so they can help you with anything you need to know. In fact, here are a few questions I had immediately after booking that they helped answer right away:
Q: Do you know what time check in and check out is at the Disneyland Hotel? We’ll arrive before check-in, and there will be a few hours after we check out before we move to the other hotel. Do you know if they provide a service to hold luggage for us?
A: At the Disneyland Hotel, check in is at 3 pm and check out is at 11 am. Of course! You’ll want to check in with the front desk when you arrive so that they can mark you as there and set it up to text you when your room is ready, then drop your bags off at the luggage stand near the entrance. That’s the same place you’ll drop it the morning you check out as well, and you can just return with your paper slip to pick it up whenever you’re ready.
Q: We won’t have a car, so I assume we won’t need to pay parking fees at either place, right?
A: Correct, you won’t need to pay the parking fee at either location since you won’t have a car.
Q: Will Disneyland email me regarding Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservations, and when our time will be for that?
A: Once the Disneyland Hotel confirms the reservation through their system (you’ll receive a second email – usually within 24 – 72 hours of booking), our team will call the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservations system and email you over the time provided.

For example, if you want to visit June 24 or later, you don’t need a reservation to get into the land, and they’ll use a virtual queuing system instead.
