It seems like the world has eagerly been awaiting the opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and this morning Disney finally made the big announcement!
- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at Disneyland in California on May 31, 2019
- Must make a no-cost reservation with your park admission for visits between May 31 – June 23 at Disneyland.com (more information will be announced later regarding how to do this on the Disney Parks Blog.
- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida on August 29, 2019
- No additional reservation will be required after opening
- Guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort will be able to use their Extra Magic Hours at the attraction
Disney also announced the opening will take place in two phases at each resort:
- Phase One:
- Live your own Star Wars story
- Ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Sample new galactic food and beverages
- Explore merchant shops and more
- Phase Two (taking place later this year, date not yet announced):
- Experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance immersive attraction
Both dates for the opening are WAY earlier than anticipated. Hotels will be selling out FAST for the remainder of the year as people will be wanting to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
