Well I know it’s only January, but it’s that time of year to plan a little ahead. We always get the best deals when we can get ready for any holiday in advance.
It seems like every year, my not so imaginative brain, has a rough time coming up with a great Valentine’s day plan. (For me I get double duty on that day too, since it’s also my husbands birthday!) So I am hoping a few or a lot of our readers will share a great idea that they have done, heard of, or been the recipient of in the past (email it to [email protected]). Remember, we are looking for cheap, inexpensive ways to show someone you care – this can include ideas that you have for your kids and their classroom parties as well.
To kick it off, here’s a cheap (and cheesy – my husband and I are both a bit on the cheesy side) idea:
Write your Valentine in the snow.
When we were dating up at Utah State my husband stomped out a huge “Real Luv” (which has personal significance) in the snow at the amphitheater on campus. He then put a small present in the snow next to it and had a friend call me on my lunch break and to tell me to walk home by walking down the hill at Old Main to make sure I got to it.
Super cheap – Snow is in Utah! – and it was cute and thoughtful. What are your ideas? You can email them to [email protected]. Include a photo if you’d like and we’ll share your idea on the site. To see other ideas as they come in – check the “Valentines” Tab on the left.
