As we mentioned yesterday, this week is my Birthday Week and we are going to be having some super fun giveaways this week to celebrate! Our first one is one of my favorites! The Ice Castles in Midway are breathtaking and should be on everyone’s “Must Do” list this winter. They usually open the first week of January and my family is looking forward to attending again this year. We are so excited!
Ice Castles is returning to Midway, Utah’s Soldier Hollow Resort December through March. The acre-sized, all-ice structure features waterfalls, slides, caves and tunnels, along with a fantastical light show set to music.
Last year, because it was so warm, they were only able to be open for one weekend and only at night. It was amazing to see, but we are excited to be able to check it out in the daytime this year as well.
The acre-sized Ice Castle will be built at Utah’s Soldier Hollow Resort, located at 2002 Soldier Hollow Road, Midway, Utah, 84049

One of the most popular features of the Ice Castle is the evening light show. Thousands of LED lights embedded in the ice coordinate with stirring instrumental music to transport guests into a fantastical wonderland. Visitors can also enjoy squeezing, squishing and crawling through parts of the stunning, Narnia-like display.
As soon as we know exactly when they will open, we will let you know. I think they are planning on January 11th (or around there this year).

This is only my second winter in Utah, and last year was so mild that this will be my first REAL experience of it. That said, I LOVED going up to Brighton to snowboard with my hubby (though I never made it off the bunny slope!) and taking my kids sledding!

My favorite thing about winters in Utah is right after it snows seeing the snow flocking the trees. It is so beautiful.
I love how pretty it is when the snow sparkles like diamonds. We were there while the piano guys were filming. We had to wait a couple of hours for them to finish up but it was completely worth it!
