Yay! Right now you can get an Amazon Fire TV for $79, a savings of $20 off the regular price of $99!
I have an Amazon Fire TV and also an Apple TV and I MUCH prefer the Amazon Fire TV. My kids also love it because they can play apps on it!
The capabilities that is has are much greater, and it goes well of course with Amazon Prime (a feature you can’t get on Apple TV). I honestly believe it is the best way to turn your TV into a smart TV, and HIGHLY recommend it. It would make a great Christmas gift for the entire family! Check out all the features HERE.
- Massive selection—Over 200,000 TV episodes and movies, millions of songs, and hundreds of games.
- Free 30-day Prime trial—Unlimited access to thousands of popular movies and TV shows including exclusive content from HBO and titles like Downton Abbey.

Would you recommend this for a couple in their early sixties? I’m looking into either this or a Roku for my parents for Christmas but they don’t Amazon Prime and probably won’t get it…..Also, I haven’t been able to find a good sale price on Rokus.
Chelsea, I would get either this or the Amazon Fire Stick…http://amzn.to/1wgVP56
Both are great for streaming from other services, like Netflix or Hulu, but if your parents don’t also have subscriptions to those and wouldn’t use the other apps, then I wouldn’t recommend it. I would recommend both Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick devices over a Roku or Chromecast or Apple TV, regardless of if they have Prime. These two devices are much better than the other brands, in my opinion.
If they have a Kindle, they can even use it to broadcast what they’re watching on the kindle onto the TV…say a family video or something they’d taken on the Kindle.
Thanks for your feedback! I went ahead and ordered one!
