scrumptious sunday Mammy's Pecan PieEvery family has their favorite recipes. My husband’s is no different! Now, I can’t attest to how good this pecan pie is. I just plain don’t like pecan nuts. But everyone who does like pecan pie just raves about this recipe! Since it’s has been in his mama’s family for years, I just had to share it so you could make it for your own holiday parties and get togethers this year.

Now the question…is it pee-can, or  pi-cawn? This is an ongoing debate between us. 🙂

**The following guest post and recipe is brought to you by my mother-in-law, Jean P.**

My grandmother was born in 1902.  She was an awesome cook.  I remember going to her home at Christmas in North Carolina.  In her yard were huge pecan trees.  We would get our baskets and go out and pick up the pecans, shell them and my grandmother would make the most scrumptious pecan pie ever.  No chocolate, no frills just the pure deliciousness of the freshest pecans, sugar, butter, vanilla, eggs and a home made pie crust.  No store bought crust for her! The best remembrance for me is that I have this recipe in her own handwriting!  You will find this pie not only on my table on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but whenever my boys come home to mama’s house!
