Looking for some Christmas Magic? For the last few years we’ve added this fun to tradition to our December. It is something that we plan on continuing from here on out. My family loves it. We spent an evening at Candlelight Christmas up at This is The Place Heritage Park and can’t wait to go back this year.
Candlelight Christmas
2017: December 8-23 (Monday-Saturday evenings) 5pm to 9pm
Leave the bright lights and hustle bustle of the season behind and step into the quiet of the Village, a place where the clock stopped over a century ago.
- Enjoy a visit with Father Christmas
- In the peace of the Village, the live Nativity scene touches the hearts of young and old alike.
- The Heritage Village Carolers return each year for an encore presentation, providing an inspiring backdrop to the glitter of lights, the glow of warm fires and the smells of Christmas.
- Visit the Naughty and Nice House. What list will you be on?
- Take home a little bit of Christmas by joining in the fun of making crafts and homemade gifts in one of the decorated historic homes or pioneer cabins. The enchanting evenings of Candlelight Christmas will be a memory to cherish for a lifetime.
Save all your holiday shopping for your visit to the Park! The Gift Shop is filled with something for everyone on your list. And don’t forget to warm up with a hot soup meal at the Huntsman Hotel. Your evening will be complete with a little bit of sugary heaven at Brigham’s Donuts.
Bundle up and join my family for an event you’ll be talking about for years to come! Make a memory that will last a lifetime and start your family tradition this year at Candlelight Christmas. This Is The FUN Holiday Place For Everyone!

We open up one gift on Christmas eve and do the nativity reading. We also have a birthday party with cake for Jesus on Decemver 23rd.
New pajamas on Christmas Eve.
How fun!!!
We love making cinnamon rolls.
We stay downtown in a hotel the day after thanksgiving. We go see temple square lights, go swimming and do the Grand America scavenger hunt. I grew up staying down town and now I get to enjoy doing it with my own kids.
We do a “night in Bethlehem” dinner with our young kids every year and it’s become our favorite night of the holiday season. We dress in pashminas and other period type dress, eat on the floor by candlelight and eat only finger foods and things that might have been eaten in the time of Jesus’ birth. We usually eat things like pittas, hummus, grapes, olives, feta cheese, crackers with goat cheese and cranberry tapenade, pomegranates, etc. It’s a fun evening spent talking about and remembering the birth of our savior.
Love this!!
Thank you! I love it too! It really is such a fun night spent putting the focus right where it should be. I think even my kids would rank this as one of their favorite traditions.
Advent calendars each year are our favorite tradition! I loved them as a child and now my kids love them as well. It makes each day a little special.
We love the live nativities and doing the 12 days of Christmas for people.
We love driving up to Logan to visit the Elk!! <3 #FamilyTime
We love going on the Stringtown Express train in Lindon. You get to get off the train to see Santa and then back on the train to see pictures of Jesus. Very special experience.
Love spending time at my Mom’s house, being with my brothers and sister every year and making holiday candy and gingerbread houses!
We love going and looking at Christmas lights. We just went and saw the ones at Thanksgiving Point this week.
My favorite memory is always spending Christmas Eve with family, music, tons of food and dancing. Then opening presents at Midnight 😀
We like to decorate and watch Xmas movies.
My kids enjoy looking at Christmas lights around town.
Going skiing on Christmas Day! THE BEST!
Visiting Santa at Station Park!
Making comes and leaving them out for Santa. Still a favorite!

We love decorating gingerbread houses and visiting temple square.
Getting a new ornament for the tree each year.
Seeing the excitement on the faces of our children as they discover the Spirit of the holiday
I guess it’s not really Christmas tradition, but it’s season related. We go to Festival of Trees each year and spend way too much money on everything there.
I have two- we love to make gingerbread houses as an extended family the first week of December. And, I love when the grandkids/great-grandkids act out the nativity at my grandma’s annual Christmas party.
Favorite family christmas tradition – Easy… Opening Gifts on Christmas Morning together!
We have appetizers on Christmas Eve. Everyone brings two appetizers and they are amazingly good! We look forward to it all year.
My favorite family tradition is now going here to the Candle Light Christmas. The kids love the interactive arts and crafts and all of the actors. So fun!
