{To read the rest of my weight loss posts, just head on over here.}
Oh my goodness! I can’t believe it has been THREE WEEKS since I blogged about my weight loss. Things have been so crazy! Who knew all the fun giveaways we have been doing for the blogiversary would take so much of my time.
So since I have to recap the last 3 weeks they are all going to be very short and sweet!
Week 12:
We have season tickets to Hale Centre Theatre in West Valley! Oh, I love their shows. It is seriously one of the highlights of my month. We have been going constantly for about a year. Last year, I vividly remember one performance. It was of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Oh, it was an wonderful show. I LOVED it! At the end of the show when Joseph sings his ballad and he hits that amazing last note I went to jump out out of my seat. Except….I didn’t jump up….I didn’t go anywhere. *Ooof. I was stuck.
You see…the seats at Hale Centre Theatre aren’t huge. They aren’t super tiny either, but I was so large that my “love handles” had wedged themselves under the arm rests. Instead of being able to just jump to my feet and clap, I had to wiggle myself free. Don’t worry, it is ok to laugh. It was funny. You should see me reenact it sometime.
So, every time I go to the theatre I remember this experience. Every time I go to stand up I think about it. Well, this week, we went to 9 to 5 The Musical. {Awesome by the way. Go! You will love it. I haven’t laughed that hard in a LONG time.} And you know what…I had EXTRA ROOM in my seat. Yep, I could move around freely. I wasn’t spilling on over into the next seat, and when I wanted to jump up, I could!
So many people focus on the pounds. So often we focus on what that little evil scale says. But lately, I have been focusing on NSV (non scale victories). This was one of those victories. The more I loose the more victories like this I will continue to have. It is Awesome!
Oops….didn’t I say they were going to be short recaps of the week. Sorry. I like to chat.
Week 12 total: This week I lost 6 pounds! Yep! 6 pounds. It was Awesome! I had to keep checking the scale. Totally Amazing!!
Week 13:
Help! My clothes don’t fit. I know I have posted about this before in Week 6: Mooning the Neighbors but it is ridiculous. I have had to completely get rid of my entire wardrobe. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is kind of hard when you know you are going to continue to loose weight. The last thing I want to do is go spend a bunch of money on clothes that I know won’t fit me anymore.
{Dad, Mom, and my little nephew – He has red hair!!}
Thankfully, my mom has been loosing weight too. Yay mom!! My mom has lost about 15 pounds (give or take) and she has been shrinking out of some of her clothes. So I went down to her house and raided her closet. I was able to get quite a few shirts. Thanks mom. I’m so proud of her for loosing weight. Years ago she was quite a bit bigger. She took the initiative and lost a lot of weight. I remember being so proud of her. Watching her change her life. She has been so strong and has been such a great example to me. Years ago she ran/walked a marathon up in Alaska. It showed me that you don’t have to be super skinny to acheave your goals. It was her acceptance that helped me to choose to start this program. Thanks Mom for all your awesome support! I love you!
Week 13 total: I lost 1 pound this week. I was thrilled. I was coming off of a 6 pound loss, and it was my “time of the month.” So I was super happy to have lost anything at all!
Week 14:
People are noticing! People are starting to ask me if I am loosing weight. It is fun to tell them how much I have lost. It is fun to look in the mirror and see the change.
This week I decided something. No food can replace having the energy to dance with my 2 and 4 year old girls. We turned on some music and my girls just wanted me to dance with them. We had our own little dance party and the smiles on their faces were priceless. This NSV was HUGE!! One of the very best!
I finally have the tools to say NO to the food that has been slowly killing me and stealing my life.
I even have a yellow shirt! I’ve never owned one in my life. So I had to take a picture on Instagram to share with all my friends! Changes are happening, and they are Awesome!
Week 14 total: Down another 4 pounds!! Woot – woot! Grand total 44 pounds!! I am getting so close to that 50 pounds I can taste it. What should I do to celebrate a 50 pound loss? Any ideas?
What else do we do to celebrate around here?! A 50-pound down giveaway!
Love it Jill!!! 🙂
Oh, and now it’s my goal to be down 50 pounds by that giveaway, too. I’m also at 44 pounds down! What a coincidence!
Way to go! Love that picture of you. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Way to go Becky – you made me cry when you were talking about dancing with your girls – Yes it’s nice to feel good about the way you look – but that is really the reason to be healthy – to be able to enjoy life and your cute girls. Congratulations again!!! So excited for you NSVs.
You go girl…..I’m proud of you!! A 50 lb loss celebration…..think of something you have been wanting for yourself but just couldn’t justify purchasing…..then go get it. Every time you see it, use it, or whatever you do with it…..you will be reminded of your awesome accomplishment and a smile will come to your face. Congratulations!! 🙂
Thanks Brenda. What a wonderful idea.
You are doing great! Keep it up girl! I just may be ridiculously jealous of your Kaboo bag! 😉 You look fabulous in yellow!
Thanks lady. Stay tuned….you might just be able to get a Kaboo bag. 😉
You’re so awesome!! And you look fantastic!! I have to honest… every time I go to snack on something mindlessly I stop myself and think of your post. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Emily! That is the sweetest thing. Thank you so much. Honestly, you just made my night. I’m glad that I can help.
