Today I am sharing a peace of myself. I’m opening a bit of my heart. I hope you enjoy…
I am Brave and Beautiful – a beauty movement that is sweeping the globe. Colbie Caillat started it with her recent song and video called TRY. My blogging friend Megan of Brassy Apple wanted to push this movement along and invited women from all over to share what they looked like without make up and I joined in!! Colbie’s song says, “Take your make up off. Let your hair down… Look into the mirror at yourself, Do you like you? Cause I like you… “
Megan and her friend Cobi of Peacefrom6pieces have been the team behind this whole project. Their worldwide vision included creating their own video inspired by the song TRY. The talent of Robbins Creative made it possible for them to pull it off. You have to click play and see the beauty and bravery displayed and you might even recognize a few faces in there.
Me along with 101+ other blogging women from different backgrounds, religions, ethnicities, ages, shapes and sizes have decided to be Brave and Beautiful! You can join in this movement too by sharing what you look like without makeup on. You don’t need a blog either! Just tag your photo with #IamBraveAndBeautiful on Instgram and search the hashtag to see who else has joined in. ALSO, if you tag it with a second hashtag – #ColbieTRY we just might be able to get Colbie Caillat’s attention since she was the inspiration behind it all!
Are you brave and beautiful? I am, here I go!
Here’s me. This is a day when I was feeling particularly beautiful!
This was a day that I was going to be on TV, not once, but TWICE! I had lost 100 pounds and I was feeling free! I was feeling on top of the world. I felt like I could concur it all and I knew that I would never go back to that place I had been before. While this isn’t a professional picture. It felt like me! Me happy. Me in a crazy amazing place.
And here I am with today. No makeup….raw. The contrast is stark and interesting. I have been REALLY sick and really struggling. I’ve been in a hard place and have gained back some weight. But here’s the interesting thing. I’m still the same person. Still as beautiful. Still as happy. And still as Amazing!
I know that, under all the makeup, I am who I am. I have the power and opportunity to be ANYTHING I choose. And while I do like myself with the makeup, I also love myself without it. This is the me that only a few people until now get to see. This is the Becky that my husband loves and adores. This is the Mom that my kids know and love. I am proud of me. I am proud of who I am. I don’t need to world to tell me what I should look like, what I should be to be happy and loved. And for that I am BLESSED and grateful!
Don’t stop here. Get clicking around – its a blog hop! Below are more brave and beautiful women bearing more than their natural beauty. They each have a little bit of their heart to share with you. Some get very personal. Some share stories. For some this was very hard to do yet they gathered their courage and did it anyway. We hope as you click around (and YES pin these different posts!) you will feel the importance of it, the empowering effect it has and that it encourages you in some way.

You are such an incredible person! You look beautiful no matter what!
This is such a great blog…absolutely LOVE your beautiful hair!! So happy to be part of this campaign with so many amazing strong women!! #womenneedwomen #hugstimesfive
You are beautiful! You have always been so kind and nice to me at all the events! I am so glad to have met you!
You are gorgeous and wonderful! xoxo!!
Becky! Okay so I loved your spill after your natural picture. I just have to say that I first met you when you had just barely lost all of your weight, and I have known you now for like a year and a half. You are the same person now as you were then and I love everything about you! You are so selfless, have the greatest personality, you are so smart, and always willing to go out of your way for others! I think that you are so beautiful inside and out and I am so glad I met you. And FYI this is not the first time I have seen you without make-up on! LOL BYBC, 2am, half-asleep and dilarious!
So true- you are still you, no matter what you look like on the outside! And sometimes it’s those difficult times (that may leave us looking rough on the outside) that really help to shape who we are on the inside! Beautiful photos (both of them). I am loving hopping from blog to blog seeing the other bloggers who participated in this! 🙂
~Heather
